The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved a programme to promote Vietnam’s tourism industry on the US cable channel CNN this year.
Under the plan, promotional clips of Vietnam will be shown on the channel in the third and fourth quarters of the year at a cost of VND 5.3 billion (US$ 279,000) or 12% of the 2010 national tourism promotion budget
The country will also place advertisements in magazines in key markets like Europe, Northeast Asia, China and other ASEAN countries.
In 2009, Vietnam ran tourism campaigns on CNN and the BBC. (VNA)
